What to Bring for Carlsbad Food Tours
So you’ve hopefully found the tour that suits you best and you’re wondering if you need to bring anything special? The short answer is not really…it’s not like you’ll be doing a strenuous hike in Tahiti or paragliding in the Swiss Alps lol
But, just to ensure you remember everything, here is a short list of things to bring with yah!
- 👟 Comfortable Walking Shoes — You’re likely going to have to do a bit of walking, so wear comfortable shoes! Even for the Cruise & Booze Brewery tour, wear comfy shoes cause you might be a lil tipsy by the end and don’t want to risk falling on your face!
- 🌞 Sunscreen — Don’t forget to protect your skin! You will be in Sunny San Diego after all… Well, at least within greater San Diego! Avoid looking like a lobster by frequently putting on sunscreen.
- 😎 Sunglasses & Hat — Similarly, keep your face protected from the sun by wearing some sunglasses and bringing a hat!
- 💸 Wallet + ID — The ID is a bit more obvious given the nature of these Carlsbad food tours… But, I recommend bringing money to order additional food or tip your tour guide.
Plus, for the Cruise and Booze Brewery Tour, only some of the drinks you’ll be tasting are included in the price. At times, you’ll have to pay for what you want to try since there’s a large selection.
- 🌮 Empty Stomach — Lastly, to ensure you experience maximum enjoyment, bring an empty stomach! When I do food tours, I literally avoid eating the entire day up until the tour… ok, maybe I’ll eat an apple. But, you want to make sure you have enough room to feast and fully enjoy everything! 🤠

Visiting Carlsbad: FAQ
Aside from the gorgeous coastlines and amazing year-round weather, Carlsbad, California is special for several reasons. For one, it’s located conveniently near Legoland, making it a great place to stay for families with kids.
Additionally, the coastal town is famous for its massive flower fields that are in full bloom during the Spring.
And if you’re a running enthusiast like me and my dad, there’s also a giant annual race along the Carlsbad coastline in mid-January. They offer 5ks, half marathons, and marathons and each of the courses is extremely pretty, you *almost* forget that you signed up for pain!
If you can’t tell by my response above, I definitely think Carlsbad is worth visiting.
It’s not exactly a big metropolitan city like Paris, Montreal, Oslo, Barcelona, or any other major city… But, it is amazing for a relaxing getaway!
So, if you’re looking for a great place to visit with stunning views and plenty of activities to explore during your stay, then Carlsbad is definitely worth checking out.
Plus, it’s only a short drive away from the San Diego Airport, making it fairly accessible for anyone flying in!
Although most people like to visit the beach during the peak summer months, and that’s all well and fine, I think the best time of year to visit Carlsbad is during the spring and fall, specifically May/June and September/October.
There are way fewer crowds and the surf is better 😉
To see and hit up all the main attractions, I recommend at least a full 3-days. But, if you want to add some extra excursions and tours, I suggest 4-5 days!
